Mr. Damn!

Mr. Damn! was imported from the Essequibo Coast in Guyana, South America in mid-2009 by Mike Roberts of El Dorado Reptiles. I mentioned on Mr. Incredible's page that Pete at Incredible Pets had a reliable source for animals coming out of Guyana - Mike was that source.

Mr. Damn! got his name because the one word that kept coming out of my mouth when I looked at him was: "DAMN!". So, I plugged that in with my Mr. ____ formula and voila!

Initially, my plan with Mr. Damn was to acclimate him slowly over about two and a half years and then breed him to Rose for her fourth litter. As fate would have it, the sire slated for Rose's third litter wasn't working out, so as a last ditch effort to stimulate that male, I put Mr. Damn! in thinking that he'd motivate the other male to breed. What happened was entirely unexpected.

Mr. Damn! entered the cage like an alpha male and immediately pushed the other male into the opposite corner in less than 2 minutes. Within 2 minutes after that he had mounted Rose and was spurring and squeezing her relentlessly. Due to the disparity in effort and interest between the original male and Mr. Damn!, I decided to keep him in there as the only male to get the job done. And he did the job well!

Rose had the largest ovulation I've ever seen and several months later, had her largest litter to date; 17 healthy babies. Thus far, this appears to be the most colorful litter yet. Several of the babies were born with a blue coloration. One was born extremely pink, and the rest looked to be of normal boa color. All were beautiful. I'm going to offer some of these babies for sale in the first half of 2011.
